Still waiting for someone to say something meaningful about what it’s about and what they object to.
Should be easy to spell out.
Watch a few seconds and it’s all clear? Then it should be easy to explain.
In response, Netflix defended Cuties , saying that the film is a piece of “social commentary against the sexualization of young children” and encouraged subscribers to watch it. In a further interview, Doucouré claimed that people upset with her film have not streamed it, stating: "I realize that the people who have started this controversy haven’t yet seen the film. Netflix has apologized to the public and to myself. I’m hoping that these people will watch the movie now that it’s out. I’m eager to see their reaction when they realize that we’re both on the same side of this fight against young children’s hypersexualization.
So, have at it. I’m curious to know exactly what the point is.
Is that true, is it bullshit? I’ve not seen it, so I have nothing to go on. I’ve not made any claims about it, but I’d expect those who have to be able to explain exactly what’s going on here.
For all I know it’s horrible, but I’ve been through enough moral panics before to ask for a detailed explanation before I bother to look into it any further.
